Job Details

The Customer Access Team (CAT) is the first point of contact for those clients approaching the Housing Inclusion Service. The team provides a walk-in duty service Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, at the Woolwich Centre, as well as respond to housing enquiries received by telephone or email.

The CAT offers basic housing related information and advice, including initial screening interviews and signposting to the relevant service area or department.

The Housing Inclusion Service is looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals who will bring the right skills and ethos to helping people threatened with homelessness. You may be an experienced Housing Officer, or a customer-focused individual looking for a new and rewarding challenge. You will be punctual, resilient, have a flexible approach and be able to treat customers fairly and sensitively.

Our Customer Access Team Officers are expected to demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to deliver the duties required by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 to see if clients are eligible and threatened with homelessness.

We are looking for individuals with plenty of empathy and ability to deal sensitively with a range of customers. Whatever your background, you will be skilled in dealing with complex customer situations that require sensitivity and good communication.

We have one Permanent and one Fixed term vacancy for 12 months in the following team:
