The Environment and Greenspace Management Services Team is expanding to provide information & technical support to Environmental Services. This has presented an exciting opportunity to create new Information Management Officer positions.

1 of the positions will have a focus on General Data Protection Regulation, Freedom of Information Requests, Enquiries, responding to Members of Parliament and Councillors.

We are always looking for better and smarter ways to operate and you will play a key role working across a broad range of service areas to support the delivery of innovative and creative services to our communities.

You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing provision of key information databases including delivery of digital by design self-build solutions. Ensuring that you provide accurate and reliable information resources consistent with service needs is essential to enable services to make key decisions on how it delivers improved and efficient services. You will support Environment and Greenspace Health & Safety management processes and be responsible for coordinating accurate documentation to ensure managers can deliver safe operations in line with relevant policies and legislation. You will ensure that all information resources provided comply with corporate standards and can support efficient and effective service delivery.

Key requirements include:

  • Proven ability to use IT and Microsoft Office packages at an advanced level to produce reports and analytical databases.

  • Experience of using Geographical Information Systems or other comparable data software.

  • Experience of undertaking method study, work measurements, and work scheduling.

  • Ability to research, produce and prepare understandable reports in a variety of formats. 

  • Experience of development, implementation and maintenance of data processing systems to support performance management.

  • Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation.

  • Understanding of legislative requirements for information governance and security.

  • A knowledge of or experience in working in public facing operational services is preferable, particularly in a field such as waste management, greenspace, enforcement, highways, environmental health, licencing or bereavement, etc.
