Join us to help shape and improve Camden’s Green Infrastructure

The Green Space Development Manager will lead on green space development for the borough, influencing and delivering high quality green infrastructure projects which contribute to healthy, sustainable communities.

The post will lead on the planning, engagement, co-ordination and financial management of our Green Space Investment Programme, leading a team of Green Space Project Officers to deliver exciting and innovative green infrastructure projects. The role will oversee the Council’s response to the impact of HS2 in relation to green space, including a specific programme of mitigation projects.

The post will also be the council’s principal advisor on strategic green space provision, design and related regeneration and planning matters. The role will develop relationships and partnerships to facilitate the improvement of green space within the borough, both within the Council and with external landowners and organisations, identifying innovative and creative ways to strengthen the benefits of green infrastructure in a complex urban environment.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team and contribute to our commitment to deliver for the people of Camden by delivering value for money services by getting it ‘right first time’.

You’ll hold a relevant degree/ qualification or equivalent and have proven experience in effective programme management, delivering strategic improvements to green space. You’ll have experience in preparing and reviewing strategic and policy documents and sound technical knowledge of the range of services delivered by Green Space.

You’ll bring a thorough, working knowledge of planning policies relating to green space, and issues in an inner city environment and understanding of good procurement and contract management practice relating to green space development and improvements. You’ll have experience of budget and financial management and a proven track record of delivering services within financial perimeters.

You’ll have excellent stakeholder management skills with experience of working with a wide range of groups and organisations to effect and deliver change. You’ll be able to manage staff effectively and have experience of working across projects teams to influence and support successful delivery.
