As the Director for Place and Communities you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a range of key services including Waste, Environment, Transport, Community Safety, Environmental Health, Planning, Place and Wellbeing and Regeneration.  Not only will you lead, motivate and develop the Council’s Place and Communities Directorate, you will be a strong team player helping develop our organisational culture and work on cross-cutting corporate projects.  With a focus on customer service and the ability to build successful and effective partnerships, you will ensure strong, productive relationships with our strategic partners and principal stakeholders. 

You will be a credible senior leader and able to evidence senior management experience, gained in one or more of the key service areas. An excellent understanding of communities and people is crucial.

Essentially you are: talented, politically astute, customer focused, resilient, enthusiastic, innovative and able to lead others. As part of the Council’s Senior Leadership Team you will help shape the Council’s future and make your own.
