Are you passionate about Road Safety, and want to help educate road users and develop their skills? If so, this is your opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering Road Safety initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council’s Highways, Transport & Engineering, Road Safety & Sustainable Transport Team. In this dynamic role your primary focus will be on delivering Bikeability National Standard Cycle Training to school aged children throughout Telford & Wrekin.
It is essential that you are a cyclist with your own bike, have general road safety knowledge and previous experience of working positively with children. You must either be a National Standard Accredited Bikeability Cycle Instructor or willing to work towards this accreditation (training will be provided).
Applicants will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate these skills to school age children. You will need the ability to solve problems positively and appropriately whilst delivering training both in the classroom and on the highway. Along with the confidence and ability to train groups, maintain discipline and inspire confidence in a fun and dynamic environment.
The role may also see you delivering various other road safety education initiatives such as pedestrian training, classroom based workshops and assemblies.
It is important to note that this is a casual post and work does fluctuate throughout the year and there is no guarantee of working hours.
