The Role


The Technical Administrator role provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to be part of a professional and motivated team. The role is based within the Highways Service, working across both Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council. 

The Policy and Regulation Team carry out the consultation process for Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) to allow creation, removal or changes to double yellow lines, disabled bays, movement restrictions and speed limits, the team process all of the TROs for the council and for third party funded schemes including those from Developers, City/District/Town and Parish Councils. In addition you will assist the Events Liaison Officer with applications for events which may impact on public roads.

The Team also manage applications for Pavement Licences for premises with tables and chairs on the highway and provide advice on traffic schemes to reduce speeding, influence route management, improve cycle infrastructure and expand provision for Resident’s Parking.
The main duties of the job are to provide technical and administrative support for the Traffic Regulation Order statutory process to ensure delivery of the Council's objectives.

We are seeking an individual with a good standard of education, excellent organisational skills, and experience of using computerised systems, knowledge of ParkMap would be advantageous. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning about the work of the highway service. 

This role is based in Huntingdon but will work throughout Cambridge City and the wider County.
