The Role

This role is based within the Highways Service at Cambridgeshire County Council and provides an unusual and excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual who enjoys working with others in the public interest to manage a key area of the Council’s Highway Assets. Cambridgeshire is the fastest growing county in the country, representing an exciting opportunity to make a real, lasting difference to communities and local infrastructure.

The Definitive Map Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a small team of Definitive Map Officers, delivering statutory Definitive Map and commons and town/village greens (TVG) services for Cambridgeshire.

With excellent organisational skills, you will plan, programme and monitor all aspects of the Definitive Map and TVG casework, including dispute resolution. As well as the line management of staff, this will include managing revenue and capital budgets and negotiating improvements to the public rights of way network through the planning process and other opportunities with landowners.

Your committed approach to service provision and experience of working with a wide range of partners and stake-holders will enable you to deliver results that provide effective value for money and outstanding outcomes for the people of Cambridgeshire. Whilst in-depth service knowledge is preferable, experience of working with legal processes in general and the ability to critically analyse and problem-solve are also important. Experience in land management would be advantageous. We are interested in what you can bring to the role!

Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for more information, and for an informal discussion please contact Camilla Rhodes on 07785 485645 or Mike Atkins on 07881 332792.

Guidance for applicants:

Closing date for applications and shortlisting: Wednesday 29th May 2019
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 11th June 2019.

There will be an interview test which will communicated to shortlisted candidates.
