About the Role

Come and lead the future agenda for our highways services. This role reports to the newly created Executive Director of Place and will help to shape and develop the vision for the place-making strategy across the whole of Lincolnshire. As one of the largest and most varied infrastructure networks in the UK, this is a unique and career defining opportunity.

You’ll use your industry expertise to achieve performance-focussed practice across infrastructure delivery, network and asset management, design services and road safety throughout the county.

Building relationships at both a local and national level, and managing multiple supplier contracts, you’ll effectively commission and procure services starting with our Highways Alliance contract from April 2020.

About You

You’re an innovative and ambitious strategic leader who will combine deep industry knowledge with performance driven insights to deliver success. With a passion for customers, communities and stakeholders you will take ownership for the future strategy which will enable the growth of the local economy through infrastructure delivery. With an impressive track record and credible and extensive industry networks, you’ll already be working in highways services and be an inspirational senior leader.

You’re persuasive, with a high degree of political acumen, can bid for and win department-changing projects, and build dynamic relationships with our suppliers. You’ll inspire and motivate your service areas to work collaboratively to create new opportunities for innovation.

You’ll lead a high profile dynamic service ensuring delivery of major projects to budget and timescales that benefit residents, businesses and visitors of Lincolnshire.

About Us

With one of the largest road networks in the UK and as one of the first Department of Transport Band 3 authorities we have an ambitious capital programme and are at the forefront of asset management. This is your chance to shape the future in this high profile newly established role with an authority that puts the customer at the heart of services.

Steeped in history and brimming with life, Lincolnshire’s historic market towns, vibrant coastal tourism and areas of outstanding natural beauty make it the perfect place for your next career move. Working with us, you can enjoy a flexible working pattern, generous annual leave and pension scheme, and exciting training and development opportunities. Relocation expenses are also available for this role.

Please note that this vacancy is a CV-based application.

Closing date: midnight Sunday 28th April.
