As an MCA Hub Coordinator you will lead on the co-ordination of the North and Central Area Mayor’s Construction Academy (MCA) Hub.
You’ll manage the delivery of the Mayors Construction Academy programme for the North and Central area. Your role will primarily focus on co-ordinating effective collaboration between construction employers, training providers, local authorities, developers other stakeholders. This will involve effective facilitation of the Hub’s partnership board and programme workstreams.
The role will be responsible for leading on the coordination and shaping of construction skills delivery training, supporting partners to develop curriculums which reflects employers’ current and future skill requirements. This will involve ensuring that delivery increases the quality and responsiveness of provision across the area, and that employers are at the heart of the process. Central to this will be the ability to work with hub stakeholders to support the delivery of apprenticeships, work placements and employment opportunities across hub partners.
With an innovative and forward thinking approach, you will introduce fresh ideas and work collaboratively with employers, training providers and referral agencies. The key to this role is the ability to build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, and also to engage with colleagues to maintain effective service delivery and a positive team environment.
The successful candidate will bring a wealth of skills including the ability to work closely with a wide range of partners. Strong communication skills are essential. Also required, will be an understanding of employers skills requirements, and an ability to communicate these to training providers, ensuring that the offer meets their needs. Understanding the current construction skills landscape and being able to identify gaps and improvements will be essential. Demonstrable experience and understanding of employment recruitment practices and training provision is crucial, along with a strong level of knowledge of training providers, funding arrangements and qualifications. The role will include monitoring the delivery of key performance indicators across the hub area and ensuring that learner experiences are of the highest quality.
You’ll have a good understanding of the key policies/strategies impacting on training and employment, and experience of managing complex multi-faceted training programmes.
The right individual will also be able to build positive relationships with multiple stakeholders to influence thinking and decision making.
To succeed, you will have a proven track record of programme and project management as well as experience of developing external partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience of training and employment in the construction sector is key. Candidates will also need to demonstrate a clear understanding of monitoring and reporting. You must be also be educated to degree level, or with a minimum of 2 years relevant construction training/ recruitment experience.
