Fixed Term for 13 Months - Maternity Cover

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wishes to develop their career at the heart of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The post holder will work directly with the Leader of the Council, Cllr Danny Thorpe, and with other elected members and senior managers from across the Council.

The post holder will provide a wide range of secretarial, administrative and personal assistant support to the Leader and other senior Members as required. Duties will include managing and responding to emails in a timely manner, managing a highly complex diary of commitments and working as part of a team to deliver appropriate responses to issues raised by residents with the Leader.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to develop effective working relationships with elected Members, senior managers and key stakeholders in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. You will be self-driven, able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working as part of a team to ensure that the Leaders Office is able to effectively support its elected Members.

Successful candidates will need to balance a range of workloads whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail, whilst also being aware of the sensitivities associated with working in a political environment.
