Job Details
The Housing Options team is seeking to employ a Housing Options Support Officer to cover maternity leave. You will be working as part of a busy team, and will be administering the Council’s choice based lettings scheme (Devon Home Choice), and supporting Housing Options Officers to prevent and relieve homelessness, and assisting in managing the Council’s temporary accommodation.
This is a frontline, customer facing role, and in addition to undertaking a range of administrative tasks you will be required to give advice and assistance regarding Devon Home Choice. You will also be required to carry out home visits in a range of circumstances and as lone worker.
You will have experience of working within a customer facing role during which support and advice was given. You should enjoy problem solving, be able to motivate and encourage others, have good negotiation and
communication skills and be confident about your ability to manage challenging behaviour.
You will be required to travel. A DBS check is required for this post.
