Contract: Full Time, Permanent, 37 hours per week

Location: Shire Hall, Gloucester

The Role

Looking to develop you career? Want a real opportunity to make your mark? We have great opportunities within our team responsible for delivering a growing major scheme portfolio.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and professional individual to join Gloucestershire’s Major Highway Projects Team.  You will join an award winning team that is responsible for delivering a growing major scheme portfolio for the County Council. Recent major projects like Elmbridge Court roundabout, C&G and Walls roundabout, over £10m of investment, are critical pieces of infrastructure to keep our county moving and our economy thriving. As the Project Manager you will oversee the planning, programming and delivery of large scale improvement works; determining, specifying and commissioning highway services work from the Council’s professional services provider.

You will lead on the delivery of major schemes, from concept work and bids, through to design, and will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the procurement of major works schemes following current procurement guidelines and NEC3 contractual arrangements.

You will be self motivated and thrive working under pressure. You will have strong organisation skills, be customer focused and have a flexible approach to work.

You will have significant experience of resource management and be able to demonstrate success in multi-agency working. It goes without saying that you’ll have good inter-personal skills with the ability to influence and persuade.

This is a flexible recruitment programme. Due to the volume of critical work this role will be involved in, we will be selecting candidates to interview as applications come in and may close the recruitment before the closing date if the right candidate is found.
