With a thriving cultural scene and competitive economy, our borough has always stood out from the crowd. Our council is just as unique, with a vision that places residents at the heart of progress. Our commitment to fairness and innovation has led to some very exciting developments – and there are many more to come. Help us realise our vision and make positive change happen.

As Chief Officer for Highways, Parks & Waste, you’ll be in charge of a crucial division. Through your teams, you’ll provide high quality roads, green spaces and waste collection services for a population of over 180,000. It means expertly managing financial resources and staff, as well as service delivery. But this is no standard leadership role – because we’re no ordinary council.

We want you to lead an ambitious programme to make Hammersmith & Fulham the greenest borough in London. It involves better provision for pedestrians and cyclists, and better access to public transport. We’ve already introduced a network of charging points for electric vehicles, plus London’s first electric car hub. You’ll also drive our waste strategy, designed to cut household rubbish and increase recycling.

On top of this, you’ll be developing policies, representing the council and giving advice at the highest level. You need to be a capable senior manager who’s worked in Highways, Transportation or Waste before. With a relevant degree or professional qualification, you’ll understand your division’s challenges and know how to deliver effective projects. Commercially sharp with political nous, you’ll share our belief in a better future.
