We have an exciting opportunities for Improvement/Maintenance Managers to join our Highways service and assist in the delivery of Highway Operations functions in either the Skipton or Boroughbridge Area Highways Offices.

Working alongside the Area Manager, and other key staff, you will be responsible for a team of Project Engineers / Highways Officers and a Senior Project Engineer, and will assist with the management of the Area team to deliver a high quality service to the local community.

The work is demanding, but rewarding. Your duties will include managing the highway maintenance and improvement, development control and traffic management service as well as delivery of the annual capital programme and programmes of revenue work. Liaising with contractors and consultants to develop positive relationships and improve performance of partnership working across the highways North Yorkshire partnership is a key element of the role as well as fostering good relationships with Elected Members and the wider community of stakeholders we engage with. You will also assist in delivering our winter service in your capacity as duty manager on a standby rota basis as well as assisting with other emergencies; the role will include out of hours working.
