Parking Asset Officer
We are seeking an Asset Officer who will be responsible for ensuring all on-street parking related assets such as paid for parking machines, traffic signs and road markings within Camden are compliant and are in accordance with statutory legislation. You will regularly review management information and performance data to pro-actively advise on current and anticipated areas of under-performance and inefficiency, whilst making recommendations to deliver service improvements.
Understanding of Traffic Management Orders in relation to traffic management is critical to the role and you will be expected to keep up to date with amendments produced by the relevant officers. Liaising directly with the Transport Strategy and Engineering Services, you will provide advice and support on changes to the council’s road network that impact on parking.
You will play a key role is delivering a forward thinking Parking Operations service to the people of Camden and use your initiative to resolve queries and issues, applying sound judgement to problems which are within well-defined procedures and guidance.
You will have good knowledge of relevant parking policy, legislation, health and safety regulations and contract monitoring techniques. You will have excellent customer and stakeholder management skills with the ability to deal with a range of teams and services on matters that are contentious and difficult whilst presenting information effectively and accessibly.
You will be well acquainted with IT systems and software packages including an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and digital mapping software systems. You will know how to set up and maintain systematic and methodical information systems both electronic and manual whilst collating, manipulating, analysing and presenting data.
This role is all about being highly organised; with the ability to work on your own initiative and to plan and prioritise work to manage conflicting priorities to meet delivery deadlines, targets and agreed work standards, with minimum supervision. You’ll also be required to drive a vehicle and must have a clean driving licence.
