Do you want to make a difference?   You have an exciting opportunity to be part of our Regulatory Services section within the Neighbourhoods Team.  You will be part of a team delivering a quality service to residents, on issues that are often complex and can have a negative impact on quality of life.

We are looking for a highly-motivated professional (an Environmental Protection Officer or an Environmental Health Officer), who is skilled in the effective use of our powers under the Housing Act 2004 and the Housing and Planning Act 2016. This is a new post, intended to focus on the upcoming changes in relation to HMO licensing, and supporting the team in private sector housing enforcement.
You must have an excellent working knowledge of private sector housing legislation and proven experience in a housing enforcement capacity. We are looking for the person with the skills and qualities needed to make optimum use of civil penalties, rent repayment orders and licensing powers to improve conditions and make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.
For an informal discussion about this role, please call David Burrows, our Regulatory Services Manager, on 01788 533806, or Verna Zinclair, our Principal Environmental Health Officer - Neighbourhoods Team, on 01788 533858.
