Are you a Planner who flourishes when working with the natural environment? Do you have the ability to maintain natural beauty through careful consideration and intricate detail?

Due to a departmental review NYCC have a number of exciting new positions available.

 As a Senior Planner you will provide support to the Team Leader in the presentation of reports to the Council, process planning applications, negotiate at senior level with developers and their consultants in all aspects of development management.

The post defines a career pathway where Band 14 can be attained by demonstrating competence in areas such as processing technically complex, contentious and/or controversial planning applications and similar submissions in respect of proposals for minerals and waste developments as well as the County Council’s own development proposals.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to:

Hold a post-graduate Town Planning qualification

Have attained Charter membership of the RTPI to be appointed Band 14

Significant experience of undertaking the regulatory functions of a Planning Authority, encompassing minerals and waste planning and Council-commissioned development

Northallerton train station is located across from County Hall, just a 2 minute walk will gain you access to the campus. Darlington, Stockton & Middlesbrough are 20 minutes by car or train and York 40 minutes by car, 20 minutes by train. All in all County Hall is located in a prime place.
