As a Health and Safety and Licensing Principal Officer within Environmental Health, Business and Consumer Services your role will be the lead officer focussing on delivering health and safety and licensing, in particular public safety.
You will be required to lead on complex case investigations and provide professional and technical advice and guidance to officers, members and other services, ensuring the delivery of an effective health and safety and licensing service for Camden residents and businesses.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Environmental Health Officer to be the lead officer for health and safety and licensing enforcement, in particular public safety for Camden.
As the lead point of expertise on health & safety matters you will:
hold a BSc/MSc or Diploma in Environmental Health and hold the EHRB certificate of registration as an Environmental Health Officer.
have competency in health and safety with a detailed working knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework relating to health and safety and a knowledge of licensing
keep abreast of relevant, new and draft legislation and drive service improvement.
have an organised approach to your own workload whilst dealing with conflicting priorities and a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
be able to work collaboratively with internal and external partners to identify innovative approaches to service objectives.
have a high degree of political awareness, including experience of working with publicly elected representatives.
