Environmental Health Officer/Residential Services Officer
2 x Permanent, 36 hours per week
1 x Temporary for one year, 36 hours per week
We are a busy service covering a wide range of environmental health work.
The London Borough of Bexley has recently been designated as a selective licensing area, in preparation for this and the extension of mandatory HMO licensing scheme in October there is an opportunity to join the Property Licensing Team.
The work will involve assisting in the licensing of these properties, identifying unlicensed properties and brining properties up to standard.
Our Residential Services Team have vacancies for three full-time posts (Job Share/Part time arrangements considered).
Service areas includes pollution, noise and other nuisance investigations, pest control complaints, rubbish and eyesore properties, illegal encampments and private sector housing enforcement including HMO’s and selective licensing.
Successful candidates will be offered either housing or public health/nuisance type work dependent upon qualifications, experience and preference.
For the Environmental Health Officer role you should have a recognised degree or equivalent in Environmental Health and Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB).
Recent relevant technical experience and knowledge relating to environmental health/housing and of managing your own caseload.
Knowledge of major legislative, social and economic issues relevant to the job and an understanding of supporting legislation/best practice.
For the Residential Services Officer role you should have a good standard of education relevant to the post and recent relevant technical experience and knowledge relating to environmental health/housing.
